Mountain High has always supported rBST-free milk production, and we’ve always made every effort to use only rBST-free milk. Unfortunately, we faced supply issues. Now we are proud to tell you our farmers guarantee they do not use rBST(recombinant bovine somatotropin)! That means our yoghurt is made with fresh cow’s milk that is free of any artificial growth hormones. Look for the “No artificial growth hormones” announcement on our new lid. When you see it, you’ll know the yoghurt inside is rBST-free! Some farmers administer rBST (an artificial growth hormone) to increase milk production, but concerns about the welfare of rBST-treated cows persist. While the FDA and others assert that “no difference can be shown between milk from rBST-treated and untreated cows,” we know that many consumers prefer products with NO artificial growth hormones. To them we say, “Dig in! Mountain High Yoghurt is rBST-free!"
