At Mountain High Yoghurt, we believe you and your family deserve only the best all natural yoghurt. That’s why we NEVER add any cane sugars, organic cane juice, or artificial sweeteners to our products. We use only pure crystalline fructose, a naturally occurring fruit sugar derived from corn. Equally important, we add just enough of this natural sweetener to make each spoonful of Mountain High Yoghurt taste great. (Note: The only sugar in delicious Plain Mountain High Yoghurt, which is completely unsweetened, is naturally occurring lactose, or milk sugar.)

Other brands use inexpensive sweeteners like high fructose corn syrup, sugar, or artificial sweeteners. Compare labels and you’ll see that, ounce for ounce, those other brands can contain almost twice as much sugar as colas and other sweetened sodas. A Better Choice
Crystalline fructose has a much lower glycemic index (23) than sugar (65), high fructose corn syrup (62), cane juice, and other sweeteners. The glycemic index is a tool used to measure how quickly a carbohydrate gets released into the body. Because crystalline fructose is metabolized more slowly by your body, it doesn’t cause insulin surges. Foods with a high glycemic index can cause insulin spikes and result in cravings for more sweet, high-glycemic foods, creating a vicious cycle that can ultimately lead to weight gain, diabetes, and other problems.
