Yoghurt Mint "Chutney"
A true chutney includes vinegar, sugar, spices, and fruit. Here yoghurt
serves the same purpose as vinegar. This creamy, robust sauce packs a lot of flavor.
Try it on grilled meats!
  • 2 Serrano chiles, seeded*
  • 2 cloves garlic
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • 1 tablespoon fresh lemon juice
  • 1 cup packed fresh mint leaves
  • ½ cup packed fresh cilantro leaves
  • 1 tablespoon ground cumin
  • ½ cup Plain Mountain High Yoghurt

Place chiles, garlic, salt, lemon juice, mint, cilantro, and cumin in a blender and process until smooth, scraping down the sides as necessary to make sure everything gets well blended. Transfer to a small glass or ceramic bowl and gently stir in yoghurt. Pass with warm, cooked meats such as lamb, chicken, or beef.

Makes 4 servings.

*Wear gloves when seeding and slicing chiles and take care not to touch eyes or sensitive skin.
